The Ease of You

Seeing you today, standing beside you, talking and smiling made me think of the ease that is us. When we are together, we have always been at ease. Even in our worst, darkest, saddest times, we have gathered strength or smiles from each other. We have approached each other, smiled in recognition, and been at ease. That is what is different about us. You and I, we are at ease in each others company. To me, it feels as though for just a brief moment, I am safe, I can smile my true smile and sigh with the ease your presence brings me. Thank you.
